Stockholm trip

So...here I am ! The day reaching the quarter of a century of my life found me in Vikings Land. Not bad at all, I can say. Dana made me the best surprise ever and took me on a short trip in the capital city of Sweden, Stockholm.
We have made the almost 200km from Örebro to Stockholm by train, which turned out to be the best choice of transportation. We paid 600 kr for our four tickets. A really good price for Sweden. Maybe that is because we bought them with the last minute offer. I recommend doing that for everybody.
About Stockholm what can I say? It was a great surprise for me. Like Carlsberg, probably it's the best city in the world i have visited so far. Stockholm have heavily surpassed Rome in my personal preferences. Why, you may ask...I don't really know, but that's what I feel right now. A very friendly city, super clean, without traffic jams, no pollution, a lot of trees, a lot of water, enormous number of people riding bikes, the buildings style, Gamla Stan, Djurgården, and the list can continue...
After the Euronews style I will let the pictures speak for themselves. No comment:

My home: Örebro !

Now, it is time for some facts about my new home, for at least the next two years: Örebro. The single thing I don't like at it, it's that is starts with "Ö" letter...Two days of struggle until finding this weird letter on my phone...But the rest of the aspects regarding this little town are more than positive.

Let's start with a small comparison between my ex. city, Bucharest, and my new home, Örebro. First of all, the differences are huugee, enormous. Here the population is a cca. 150.000. In Bucharest official statistics show something about 2.500.000 inhabitants.
I like it this way. Here you don't bump into each other on the streets.
Also I was shocked by the huge number of bicycles. Everyone, form 9 to 99 years, feel the pulse of the city by bike. You can also rent bikes from the city center for almost 70kr for a day.
Another thing that amazed me was the cleaningness of the streets. Everything here is so clean, so good preserved. You don't see gray flats, you don't see homeless dogs, and you don't see traffic jams or hundreds of cars horning without reason.

Sounds like paradise, and trust me, in comparison with Bucharest, it really is ! Not to talk about the good buss system with schedules in every station. Also, in weekends, when everybody goes in city to party, the last buss leaves form the city center between 01.30 - 02.00 o'clock. As a fact, all the buses in Örebro are purple.
Oh...I almost forget the main attraction here: The Castle ! It's right in the city center and it is surrounded by water. It's a really nice touristic objective with a lot of history past.
In Örebro you can also find the best Sweden's park in 2004, and the 6th or 7th best park of the Europe, I don't remind exactly right now. The name of the park is Stadsparken, which means City Park. It's a great place for a quiet sunday or for the photo fanatics.

Same shit, different day....

My first job interview passed in the same swedish style. I will have to wait 2 weeks for a document regarding my criminal past which will be send to me by post by the Polis. So, I think everything here is gravitating towards this "2 weeks" term.
Also the Skatteverket (Tax Office) called me again to show 2 more documents in order for them to give my personal civic number. So 3 weeks of waiting in vain...Now I am curious how more time I have to wait for this civic number. 2 weeks? Maybe...
This week I had my first lecture. It was something about Globalization theories. Great teacher, great presentation, but all in all I found it a little bit boring for my taste. I hope the next lectures and seminars will be more attractive. In the educational sense, of course...
About the weather. Ultra, hyper discussed subject here in Sweden. Happily, the weather so far it's decent to fine. I mean 17, 18 Celsius degrees daily are good values for the start of September.
Here is a picture of some of us. This is not the entire MAGJ Group...

Slow Society...Sweden !!!

So here I am, a couple of hundreds of kilometers away from home...in Örebro more precisely...200km west from Stockholm.
My new chapter of life started on 12 august this year when I stepped for the first time on swedish soil.
My first impression then? A clean country, too much lakes, many many trees and forests.
My impression now, after three weeks of living among the natives? A clean country, many lakes, many forests, high prices, good bus system, great roads, weird language, beer too light and, above all, the thing that is killing me sofly: the slow slow slow swedish society.
Let's talk about that a little. For instance right now I am waiting for everything: I am waiting for my personal number for almost 2 weeks, I am waiting for my Nordea bank card for more than 2 weeks, I am waiting for my Student Union Card for 2 weeks, I am waiting for a post package that should have been here last week, and I am waiting for my second apartment key for more than one week now.
I have to mention that here everything is done by post. All this things most arrive at my home by post. I am starting to be annoyed by this very slowly system.
For everything here you have to wait at least 2 weeks. Even for a fucking little door key.
Aaaa and one more thing. 2 weeks ago (the magic number here) my home internet connection died suddenly. My apartment colleagues called the service provider to resolve the problem but not even now, after to damn weeks, the internet connection isn't working.
Herregud they have pre paid internet usb sticks. Otherwiseeee...:D
This afternoon I am having my first job interview...I hope everything will be fine...Keep the fingers crossed...
But I will write more about this new experience in a post tomorrow...
Hej då, for now.:)
